Ny vaccinationsbølge i Haiti
An estimated 60,000 Haitian children under the age of five will receive life-saving immunization in the next few days.
This is part of the Vaccination Week of the Americas – an annual vaccination initiative covering 44 countries and territories in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Massiv indsats mod polio i Afrika
En ny vaccinations-kampagne skal sikre millioner af børn mod polio i Vest- og Centralafrika.
Trods tidligere indsatser mod sygdommen, spredte den sig i 2008, også i lande, hvor den ellers var udryddet.
Årsagen er folkevandringer over landegrænser kombineret med manglende rutinemæssige vaccinationer.

More than 60,000 people in earthquake-devastated Haiti have been vaccinated against diphtheria (difteri), tetanus (stivkrampe) and other diseases, but additional teams are urgently needed to wrap up this immunization campaign, the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) reported today.
